We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included.The shift pattern is Monday to Friday 37hrs per week 9- 5pm 4days & 9- 4.30pm 1 day.A rare opportunity has arisen for a Pharmacy Technician Specialist to work within the Purchasing Team at the Pharmacy Distribution Centre. You will be responsible for the day to day governance of Pharmacy Purchasing Services, and ensure safe work practices and efficient supply of medicines whilst supporting the management of the Purchasing Team. As a senior member of the PDC team you will contribute to the strategic and operational planning of pharmacy services and be responsible for the planning, co-ordination and day to day management of the Purchasing team to ensure patients receive the highest quality products safely and efficiently. The post holder will undertake activities relating to contract management and general office management in addition to appropriate technical duties within the purchasing section. .The post holder will have relevant technical experience and will work collaboratively with clinical pharmacists to achieve a cohesive approach to purchasing medicines and optimise the cost effective use of medicines within the acute setting. Purchasing provider engagement, medicines expenditure data analysis and Pharmacy representation at meetings make this an exciting opportunity to apply your knowledge, skills and experience. You must be confident to work independently as part of a team interchangeably.You will have:

You will work with a team who strive to develop pharmacy services using quality improvement methodology to demonstrate service improvement.Candidates must be registered with The General Pharmaceutical Health Council with an NC in Pharmaceutical Science (or equivalent), HNC Pharmacy Services or equivalent management qualification, A1 Assessor or equivalent qualification 3 years post qualification experience providing a broad understanding of a range of technical practice and include staff management. They must hold an Accredited Checking Technician Qualification.The post holder will be required to participate whole week working and public holidays.
