As the Trust Administrator, you will be responsible for assisting the team in providing excellent client service in various lines of business while adhering to compliance policies, internal controls and procedures. In this role, you will demonstrate solid written, verbal, interpersonal, analytical, and application skills to service clients financial needs, assist in the management of investment portfolios, support financial planning and client relationships, filling a need that has the power to shape the lives of our clients. You will leverage product knowledge and available tools to respond to client financial needs and meet client service expectations, supporting the establishment and maintenance of mortgage referral networks, investment portfolios, after sales service support and client account transactions. You will also hold responsibility for the execution of customer requests, providing relevant recommendations when appropriate. The role supports best practices and helps the team achieve their primary objectives, planning and carrying out administrative duties as required.At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role. Details on your work arrangement (proportion of on-site and remote work) will be discussed at the time of your interview.How You’ll SucceedOperational Support – Assist the Trust Officer with the administration of a portfolio including: Opening New Accounts, including preparing initial letters to third parties as requested. Statements of Account, including arranging for preparation or preparing Statement of Accounts for Estates as required. On-going File Maintenance, including updating account information (i.e., CIF’s, Addresses, Email Agreement, Telephone, SIN’s). Fee Integrity, including reviewing fee set-up on accounts on an annual basis; and preparing a Statement of Compensation to review to ensure correct fees are applied. Asset Inquiry/Collection/Consolidation/Maintenance, including collecting of cash assets upon receipt of probate as requested; in-kind asset transfers (both to and from another institution); cash control by minimizing overdrafts in coordination with administrator and Investment Management; updating adjusted cost bases (ACBs) on accounts; and updating or arranging for update of values of Miscellaneous Assets.Client Engagement – Develop and maintain professional client relationships. Interact regularly with clients and beneficiaries and their lawyers, accountants, and financial planners to discuss account administration.Collaboration/Project – Preliminary research for inquiries received; investigations; and participating in intra and inter-departmental meetings as requested; participation on committees encouraged. Annual Projects including preparing QI Documents for signature of STO/TO/ATO; preparing Annual Review Packages for files; updating CLIPs; ensuring AML documentation in file and on TOPS; and ensuring 104 tax elections are up-to-date.Who You AreYou are a certified professional. You have successfully completed the Canadian Securities Course (CSC) and the Level One Trust Program offered by CSI. It is an asset to have or in process of pursuing Certificate of Estate and Trust Administration (CETA) through STEP CANADA.You can demonstrate experience in Trust, Estate and Power of Attorney for Property. You have detailed knowledge of accounting and securities administration sufficient to complete documentation and to communicate effectively with other departments, and financial institutions.You’re passionate about people.
