Job Description:Our client who are an outdoor recreational design company located in Burnaby, are searching to hire a Human Resources & Executive Assistant. In this role, you will support the Vice President with Human Resources administration support and Accounting administration support. You will play a crucial role in supporting these business functions, while building a career with an organization who are dedicated to making a positive impact on communities.Responsibilities:Human Resources

  • Support the recruitment process by sourcing candidates, performing reference checks, assisting in shortlisting and issuing employment contracts.
  • Set-up, update and maintain employee records in HRIS (BambooHR).
  • Schedule and coordinate meetings, interviews, and HR events.
  • Facilitate on-boarding and orientation for new hires to ensure seamless integration to the team.
  • Coordinate internal and external training programs.
  • Ensure departmental training requirements are up to date.
  • Processing government grant applications for team training.
  • Assist with HR related inquiries or requests and provide support.
  • Maintaining Health & Safety Profiles.
  • Management of subcontractor folders.
  • Administration of company’s benefit plan.
  • Facilitate Company Performance Reviews.
  • Participate in monthly H& S meetings.
  • Assist with updates/development of HR policies and procedures.
  • Work closely with and report to the VP, assisting with other projects and duties as assigned.

Accounting

  • Payroll assistance (timesheets, payroll summary, benefits reconciliation).
  • Processing VISA and expense reports.
  • Credit checks (vendors and customers).
  • Collections (collecting, follow ups, reports, monthly statements).
  • Operational Accounting support – data entry AP/AR/GL, generate reports, assist with monthly PST self assessment, expense and revenue. reconciliations, assist with document’s request / backups, etc.
  • Cheque Runs and Deposits (occasional bank trips required)
  • Assist with Month End, Quarter End and Year End Activities.
  • Various duties related to accounting support during vacation periods or high volume.
  • Other projects and duties as assigned by the Financial Controller.

Requirements:Must Haves:

  • Proven experience in a HR Administrator or HR Coordinator role.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field and/or equivalent experience.
  • High proficiency with Microsoft Suite – Word, Excel, Outlook.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience with handling sensitive materials and hold a high degree for discretion.
  • A full driver’s license and access to a vehicle is required***
