We have an exciting opportunity due to career progression within the team for a registered professional to join the Learning Disability Crisis Response and Intensive Support Team as a Band 6 practitioner- 37.5 hours a week.The team provides a service Monday- Sunday 8am-9pm including bank holidays and we are based at the Agnes Unit. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to discuss flexible working pattern within these hours.You will be holding a caseload of your own and working within a specialist team of nurses, health care support workers, Occupational Therapist, Speech and Language Therapist, Psychiatry and Psychology, with input from allied health professionals- which is part of the wider Learning Disability Service.The Learning Disability Crisis Response and Intensive Support Team provide support, clinical assessments, interventions and risk management for people with learning disabilities who are at risk of admission to an inpatient unit or at risk of losing their placement within the community.This intensive support is provided by the model of Positive Behavioural Support and intensive support for people with mental health needs and a diagnosis of a learning disability.The service is provided to people living in the community of Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland.Main duties of the jobThis post is an excellent opportunity for a registered professional (professional qualification and registration) who has experience of working with people with learning disabilities which is essential for this post.It is also desirable for the applicant to have experience working with people who have complex high-risk needs and have community experience.This would also be an opportunity to develop and strengthen clinical skills and competencies and additionally work within a team who are highly passionate in relation to supporting people with learning disabilities and complex needs to live successfully within the community.The successful candidate will receive a full induction to the Learning Disability Crisis Response and Intensive Support Team and wider Learning Disability Service and, further to this, access to bespoke training in relation to the assessment and risk management of patients with learning disabilities and complex behavioural.You will need a full driving license and access to a vehicle insured to use for work purposes.About usWe may close the advert early, if we receive a sufficient number of applicants, so please apply as soon as possible.
