The Role:This is an exciting opportunity for a talented and motivated Associate/Associate Director-level expert in Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) to join our Cundall team in our Australia office based in either Perth, Melbourne, Brisbane or Sydney office. You will be supporting and assisting clients with the development of their ESG/sustainability and decarbonisation strategies, undertaking materiality assessments, stakeholder engagement, target setting, carbon accounting, and develop implementation and action plans.You will lead a highly motivated and growing team of ESG sustainability and climate change specialists across Australia and the APAC region. You will work with the Project Director(s) to manage the planning, resourcing, financial performance, and training of the team to deliver on project outcomes, liaising and coordinating with the wider sustainability team. You will play a vital role in developing our existing team – sharing knowledge, assisting in training outcomes and setting a high standard for others to aspire to.In this role, you will lead projects and receive strong support to contribute to the expansion of our portfolio. As a project manager, you will oversee projects within our Australian offices and collaborate with our broader global sustainability team. Direct support for this role will be provided by a local Director who will collaborate closely with you as an Associate to ensure the achievement of desired outcome and to facilitate your professional growth and contribute to the overall success of our team.NOTE:We are open to having this position based in our Perth/Melbourne/Brisbane/Sydney office.The Skills:

  • Extensive experience within sustainability/ESG consulting and/or management, preferably across the built environment sector.
  • The ability to lead projects and junior staff and represent the business positively to project teams and client organisations.
  • Team leadership skills to directly manage the career development of the team, 1-on-1 engagement and workload management to maintain a high level of performance.
  • Project management skills to directly manage delivery of scope, client satisfaction, financial performance and invoicing.
  • Business development skills to manage the development of proposals, seek new work from existing clients and grow new potential clients.
  • Experience in preparing ESG strategies and implementation plans, including materiality reviews and stakeholder engagement.
  • Experience in developing carbon emissions inventories and decarbonisation plans.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects concurrently, effectively resourcing to meet client deadlines.
  • Strong technical analytical skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and presentation skills.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office tools.
  • Tertiary degree in engineering, environmental sciences, economics, social sciences, organisational development, finance, accounting or other ESG-related degree.
  • Preferable, but not essential
  • Experience with best practice certification schemes, including the Climate Active Carbon Neutral Standard, GRESB, CDP and SBTi
  • Climate Active Carbon Neutral Registered Consultant
  • Experience with GRI reporting
  • Experience with NGERS reporting
  • Experience with climate risk assessments
  • Being familiar with IFRS / ASRS standards
