Rockfon is seeking a Business Development Specialist, based on-site at our Chicago facility, as part of our Rockfon Sales team. At ROCKWOOL, we work relentlessly to enrich modern living through our innovative stone wool solutions.Join us and make a difference!Salary: $59,000 – $64,000 per yearWhat You Will Be DoingThe Business Development Specialist will play a crucial role in the sales process by identifying, qualifying, and nurturing potential customers. This role will be responsible for supporting the sales team, initiating and fostering relationships with architects, contractors, and key stakeholders, and identifying new business opportunities to drive sales and market share growth across North America.

  • Lead Assessment & Qualification: Evaluate and qualify inbound leads from various channels (e.g., website, social media, email) using established criteria to determine their readiness for the sales process.
  • Account Development: Implement strategic plans to acquire new clients and expand market presence within the designated territory.
  • Lead Nurturing: Engage with leads who are not immediately ready to speak to a sales person, providing valuable information and periodic follow-ups to maintain interest and build relationships.
  • Project Discovery: Use project databases to uncover new opportunities and initiate contact with prospective customers.
  • Data Analytics: Support sales managers with data analytics and sales reporting insights.
  • Market Analysis: Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and customer feedback to inform sales strategies and product development.
  • Collaboration with Sales & Marketing Teams: work with internal teams, including marketing and technical support, to assist sales in customer engagement.

What You Bring

  • Experience: 1-3 years in a sales, marketing, or customer service role. Experience in lead qualification, lead generation, or the manufacturing/construction sector is a strong plus.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build rapport quickly and adapt communication style to different audiences.
  • Sales & Customer Insight: Strong understanding of the sales process and ability to identify customer needs and pain points.
  • Tech-Savvy: Proficiency with CRM software (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics 365) and basic knowledge of marketing automation tools.
  • Analytical Skills: Ability to interpret lead data and make data-driven decisions to improve lead qualification processes.
  • Organizational Skills: Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple leads and follow-up activities effectively.
  • Experience in a high-volume lead or customer service environment, preferred.
  • Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with building products, applications, and key industry requirements in construction and manufacturing, preferred.
  • Familiarity with lead scoring models and qualification frameworks, preferred.
