About us:Established in 2007, GeoCon have provided our expert services to clients across the UK on thousands of sites.Our highly professional team of consultants and contractors specialise in environmental & geotechnical (geoenvironmental) site investigations projects within the construction and civil engineering industry, with a focus on environmental consultancy, ground engineering and engineering geology for Brownfield and Greenfield land.Geoenvironmental Engineer – Job Purpose:As our Geoenvironmental Engineer your role is to support engineering and environmental projects by conducting geological and geotechnical investigations, analysing soil, rock, and groundwater conditions, and contributing to the design and assessment of safe and sustainable infrastructure or remediation solutions.Geoenvironmental Engineer – Main Responsibilities:The main responsibilities of the role will be site based carrying out site investigation works. The primary tasks will include:
- Supervising site investigations,
- Logging soils and rocks to British and European standards,
- Soil sampling for chemical and geotechnical purposes,
- Environmental monitoring,
- Scheduling chemical and geotechnical testing,
- Assisting with day-to-day general office tasks,
- Report management.
Geoenvironmental Engineer – Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
- Minimum of 1-4 years’ experience within a similar environment,
- Proficiency in preparing Phase 1 and Phase 2 reports,
- Familiarity with dynamic sampling and cable percussion techniques and their use in geotechnical investigations,
- Practical experience with site investigation methodologies
- Strong understanding of contaminated soils assessment,
- Familiarity with geotechnical principles, laboratory testing, and analysis,
- Full clean driving license
Training:Full training will be provided for all aspects of the role, previous experience will be monitored and most training is refreshed on a yearly basis.
