The post holder will provide essential clerical support to the nursing and medical teams on the Treehouse Unit, a 46-bed paediatric unit that includes high dependency, surgical day case, assessment, and inpatient areas. In addition to these responsibilities, the post holder will assist the ward manager with daily administrative tasks to ensure the efficient running of the unit and contribute to high standards of patient care and safety. This includes taking responsibility for the management, storage, and tracking of patient records, as well as coordinating follow-up appointments. In addition to these duties, the role will involve supporting the ward manager with general administrative functions, ensuring smooth ward operations, and maintaining a high level of confidentiality and security for all patient-related information. The post holder will contribute to a safe and efficient environment, working closely with staff to ensure that all necessary paperwork is completed and processes are followed.Main duties of the job
- Responsible for assisting in the management, storage, and tracking of patient records, ensuring they are accurately filed and securely stored.
- Greeting patients and visitors to the Treehouse Ward
- Reception duties whereby all relevant paperwork is compiled and notes are attended to.
- Answer the telephone and take and record messages whilst adhering to the telephone standard applicable throughout the Trust and alert the nursing team to any action required
- Responsible for the ordering and collection all appropriate required ward documents; Patient Information Leaflets are well stocked and readily available.
- Inputting data onto relevant database
- Assist the ward manager with daily administrative tasks.
- Provide holiday and sickness cover for other clerical staff as required
- Undertake administrative tasks specific to the role of the Treehouse Ward
- Issue client car park permits and direct them to the general office
