The opportunity is here!Our Mother of Consolation School in Chestnut Hill, PA is seeking a faith-filled and dynamic
professional to serve as the Innovation and Information Technologist. The ideal candidate is a
practicing Catholic who is eager to be the founding Teacher and Coordinator of our Innovation
Lab and Information Commons while working collaboratively with the principal, faculty and a group of parents with knowledge in these areas who worked to formulate this position. The starting date for this position is September 2024. While this is envisioned as a school year position, it could expand to include employment for summer programs.OMC School is located in the Chestnut Hill section of Philadelphia. It is convenient to both train
and bus lines. It is part of a historic parish campus, which was founded in 1855. The school
experienced a fire in March 2023; the building is currently undergoing reconstruction. The
newly reconstructed, state of the art building will be ready for occupancy in the Spring of 2025.
Until the new school is ready to be occupied, the school will continue in its current location at
Chestnut Hill College.Our Mother of Consolation is a Middle States Accredited school and has achieved the National
Blue Ribbon School of Excellence and the Archdiocese of Philadelphia School of Distinguished
Instruction. Its governance model is Pastor and Principal, working collaboratively with the Board
of Limited Jurisdiction.The candidate will possess a spirit of curiosity for innovation that they are excited to share with
students and faculty. This individual should have a degree in Education or a STEM-related field,
an eagerness to teach STEM classes to grades K-8, and a willingness to grow through
professional development. This person must be willing to develop and implement a curriculum
in a brand-new Innovation Lab with the overarching aim of guiding our students to think, to
know how to assess a problem, and to become flexible learners. The director seeks to impart
the skills needed to achieve this aim: problem-solving skills, iteration capability, creativity &
design, informational (data) literacy, collaboration, investigative inquiry. In short, our vision
statement is to have OMC students use inquiry and collaboration to develop creative
problem-solving skills. In addition to such skills as coding, CAD, and robotics, the students in the
upper grades will investigate the 17 Global Goals of the United Nations. With respect to the
information technology aspect, the instructor will do “push ins” with the lower grades and “pull
outs” with the higher grades imparting the necessary technology skills needed for matriculation
into high school, as well as function as an ancillary source for in class assignments.Requirements:

● Experience in Catholic education
● Degree in Education or a STEM-related field

● An understanding of child growth and development
● Strong proficiency in Google Suite and Digital and Information Literacy skillsDuties and Responsibilities:
● Be forward-thinking and maintain a vision for the implementation of a vibrant STEM
program for the school
● Serve as the founding teacher and coordinator of OMC’s Innovation Lab
● Develop a curricular framework that encourages students to explore, iterate and design
for creativity, critical thinking, and positive change
● Develop a scope and sequence of skills in digital literacy, coding and robotics for grades
K-8 in the fall semester of 2024, to be implemented in the spring semester of 2025.
● Teach in the Lower School and Middle School
● Partner with Elementary and Middle School teachers to develop, integrate, and assess
innovative student learning experiences
● Develop and maintain a STEM resource library/checkout system that teachers can access
in order to augment Science/ Math learning within the general classroom.
● Serves as the faculty leader of one student co-curricular club per trimester
● Serve as Coordinator of the Innovation Lab and the Information Commons, maintaining
and ordering technology and supplies, participating in professional development
opportunities to continually grow the STEM program and provide relevant training to
teachers and staff.
● Serve as the liaison with the school and parish’s offsite technology management
