Position: SEN Teaching Assistant – Full Time / Part Time
Location: Slough
Start Date: ASAP or January 2025Are you passionate about supporting children with Special Educational Needs? Supply Desk is excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for a SEN Teaching Assistant in Slough. This role is perfect for those looking to make a real difference in a supportive and inclusive setting.The Role/Responsibilities:
- Provide compassionate, patient, and empathetic support to children with complex learning difficulties.
- Effectively communicate with parents and teachers to provide behavioural and emotional guidance.
- Plan, prepare, and deliver tailored support for students, especially those exhibiting challenging behaviours.
- Work with SEN pupils on a 1:1, small group, and whole-class basis, adjusting teaching methods to suit individual needs.
- Assist in the creation and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
- Inject creativity and fresh ideas into lessons to keep students engaged and inspired.
- Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with care.
- Adhere to child protection, health, safety, and confidentiality policies, and report any concerns as required.
- Provide supervision for pupils before and after school, as well as during breaks.
Ideal Candidate:
- A strong understanding of SEN and a genuine desire to help students succeed.
- NVQ in Childcare and Education or Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools (unqualified candidates are encouraged to apply).
- Experience in supporting children’s social and emotional development.
- Enthusiastic, dedicated, and ready to make a lasting impact on students’ lives.
- Ability to commute to Slough.
- Current valid DBS or willingness to obtain one.
