Job Description:We are offering an exciting opportunity for a local Waterloo Region Company. We are seeking a Finance Manager, whose primary function will be to manage and oversee accounting functions, supervise staff members, and implement robust internal control systems.Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the accounting operations, including updating accounting records, monitoring bank accounts, completing monthly reconciliations, intercompany reconciliations, Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Payroll, General Ledger, Cost Ledger, and more.
  • Provide effective management of both corporate and project accounting.
  • Prepare management materials, including summarizing financial information, conducting trend and variance analysis, and summarizing key performance indicators.
  • Review and oversee the preparation of interim and year-end financial statements for all holding corporations.
  • Manage Accounts Receivable (AR) proactively, ensuring accurate monthly billing and timely payment.
  • Maintain Accounts Receivable (AR) spreadsheet to track development management fee billing schedules.
  • Manage Accounts Payable (AP) proactively, ensuring approvals and payments occur in a timely manner.
  • Oversee the issuance, tracking, management, and cross-referencing of Purchase Orders.
  • Implement and maintain a robust internal control system and lead the implementation of a new accounting software system.
  • Coordinate and liaise with external stakeholders, including consultants, auditors, and the CRA.
  • Oversee the preparation and review of all tax filings and returns to ensure compliance with tax legislation, HST, CPP, EI, EHT, WSIB, T2, T5013, etc.
  • Document and maintain complete and accurate supporting information for all financial transactions.
  • Constantly seek efficiency in processes, tools, and reports, and suggest implementations into our framework.
  • Perform special projects and ad hoc reporting as required.

Requirements:

  • Proficient with Accounting Software Systems
  • Familiarity with ERP Solutions
  • Ability to handle all Accounting Functions
  • Expertise in managing Accounts Payable (AP)
  • Experience in managing Accounts Receivable (AR)
  • Proficiency in Auditing
  • Familiarity with Budget Processes
  • CPA certification is required
  • Ability to prepare Financial Statements
  • Knowledge in Tax matters, including HST
  • Experience with Intercompany transactions
  • Proficiency in Account Reconciliation

Expected salary

$125000 – 130000 per year
