You will be a well-respected colleague with a keen sense of esteem for those you report to.YOUR POSITION AT BGCGWThe Senior Grant Writer serves as a member of BGCGW’s Resource Development team, and he/she is responsible for developing and submitting proposals to include government, corporate and private foundation narrative and post-award narrative. This position reports to the Chief Development Officer and works closely with BGCGW’s Finance team, Impact & Innovation team and Operations teams. The Senior Grant Writer will collaborate with senior management, funders and occasionally board members while managing proposals across multiple BGCGW departments.YOUR ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIESGrant Writer (90%)· Develop and write proposals for submission to corporate, foundation and government/NGO organizations; provide technical writing and editing for proposal narratives.· Assemble and submit grant requests, including but not limited to reference letters, proposals, budgets and other supporting materials.· Ensure grant report narrative is accurate and submitted on time – work with Impact & Innovation and Operations colleagues as well as Finance team on quarterly/mid-year reports, final reports and other funder stewardship reports.· Represent BGCGW in funder meetings; serve as an external facing fundraiser.· Transform ideas into grant concept papers, proposals and reports.· Other writing duties as assigned.Grant Administration (10%)· Maintain weekly grant pipeline and calendar: ensure timely submission of grant applications and grant reports.· Ensure moves management actions are recorded in development database on a weekly basis and work with Database Administrator for reports that track the progress of grant pipeline.· Conduct background research to support program development and attend webinars for grant submission.YOU’LL NEED TO BRING· Four-year degree from an accredited college or university.· Minimum of seven years nonprofit fundraising experience including five years of grant writing experience with demonstrated and verifiable success at securing grant awards.· Commitment to the mission of BGCGW – must adhere to the highest ethical standards, demonstrate an empathetic disposition and perseverance, and convey sensitivity to the needs of donors, staff and volunteers.· Excellent verbal and written communication skills essential, including the ability to write technical as well as comprehensive and compelling copy for a range of fundraising needs.· Superior attention to detail, accuracy, coordination and follow through.· Comfort multi-tasking multiple deadlines and shows strong ability to prioritize.· High degree of sophistication, self-confidence and self-motivation – ability to keep calm under pressure.· Team-focused, must enjoy and be successful at leading teams and able to roll up one’s sleeves and make things happen as an individual.· Flexibility must be comfortable collaborating across multiple departments and Club locations.· CRM (Raiser’s Edge NXT, DonorPerfect, Salesforce, etc.) experience preferred.· Must have strong home internet connection (work laptop and cell phone will be provided).· Evening and weekend work to be occasionally anticipated and expected.· This position can be virtual during normal business operations.
