We are seeking a strong and capable administrative leader to help realize the vision of
the company. Beyond its already proven success as a summertime tourist attraction
and a driver of the local economy, The Grove Theatre aspires to a much larger role as
the cultural centre of the Kawarthas, offering high-calibre productions in multiple
venues throughout the year. The successful candidate will help take The Grove Theatre
to the next level as part of a visionary enterprise that dares to dream, even more boldly,
of a potential future as one of Canada’s foremost theatre companies. The Director of
Finance & Administration operates the day-to-day finance & administration operations
for The Grove Theatre and is a member of the senior staff and grants committee.Responsibilities
Working with the Executive Director and senior staff, the Director of Finance and
Administration, will ensure the financial aspects of the company operate efficiently and
effectively. The ideal candidate brings a background of financial leadership and
experience in financial planning for theatre, with experience in the financial aspects of
grant applications. Accounting, bookkeeping, or related experience is an asset. The
ideal candidate has experience working in the not-for-profit milieu, and a passion for
the performing arts, arts education and community building. This is an exciting

  • Responsible for building and maintaining the operational budget including

creation, management, oversight, forecasting and reporting including:

  • Monitors and controls revenues and expenditures
  • Cash flow analysis
  • Identifies potential financial concerns and recommends solutions
  • Works with the bookkeeper to ensure complete and accurate financial

documentation & reports are regularly available • Supervises all financial matters, transactions and reports (delegating where appropriate) including:

  • Issuing cheques
  • Tax receipts
  • Conducting bank business
  • Managing cash (floats) and financial assets
  • Managing accounts receivable and payroll
  • Maintenance and issuing of employee records, government forms and filings

Administrative:

  • Responsible for human resources including managing contracts, benefits, payroll and preparation of office and general administrative policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for the effective operation of the accounting systems

purchase and leasing

  • Assists in contract management helping to negotiate
  • Facilitates agreements, equipment service agreements, insurance

coverage, amphitheater partnerships

  • Support with patron and donor inquiries as needed

Funding and Fundraising Management:

  • Helps complete grant applications and sponsorship applications in collaboration with grants committee and staff
  • Manages all grant reporting to grantors

Employment Type:

  • Full-time Permanent
  • Monday – Friday with occasional weekend work
  • $65K + Benefits
  • 3 weeks paid vacation
  • Based from The Grove Theatre office in Fenelon Falls with potential for some
