Come join our team providing cutting-edge expertise in services, rock mechanics and materials control for the realization of design or construction projects of all types and complexities by offering added value in terms of innovation, customer support and multidisciplinary integration of all CIMA+ areas of expertise, while positioning people at the center of engineering. We offer a flexible hybrid work mode allowing you to work from home and from one of our offices.Primary ResponsibilitiesWithin the multidisciplinary teams of our department, you will participate in projects of design, rehabilitation or construction of buildings, roads, civil engineering structures, hydraulic structures, earthworks, slope stability, soil dynamics, temporary and permanent supports, deep and conventional foundations, for private or public, institutional or industrial clients, mainly in Quebec but also elsewhere in Canada. In your role you will:

  • Conduct and supervise the completion of complete geotechnical studies from planning to report writing, including surveys, drilling, laboratory tests, as well as design recommendations
  • Inspect, assess the safety and bring concrete and earth dams up to standard
  • Participate in studies on tunnels and the stability of rock walls, including discontinuity surveys and potential landslide plans using a drone
  • Coordinate studies, engineering, field work, subcontractors and suppliers
  • Prepare tender documents to respond to interdepartmental or public service offers
  • Supported by experienced draftsmen, prepare plans and specifications for earthworks, slope stabilization, bank protection, etc.
  • Supervise, supervise, train and guide the work of CPI or interns
  • Participate in the development of the team
  • Profile
  • University degree in civil or geological engineering and specialization in geotechnics
  • Minimum of seven (7) years of experience in geotechnics
  • Member of the Ordre des Ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ)
  • Knowledge of specialized software in the field of geotechnics.
  • The candidate must demonstrate excellent teamwork skills within multidisciplinary engineering teams composed mainly of geotechnical and geological engineers and environmental specialists
  • Experience or master’s degree in hydrogeology or rock mechanics or soil dynamics or permafrost would be an asset
  • Fluency in French and English, both oral and written, is required for this position in order to communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders, including our clients, partners and cross-sector staff at the national level.
  • Strong ability to work simultaneously on various projects
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, and ability to ensure effective communication with clients on the progress of work
  • Project management skills and experience to ensure compliance with budgets, established deadlines and administrative monitoring of files.
