The Team oversees application releases across the Engineering teams to manage the overall risk while adhering to Enterprise Release and Change management controls and policies. Join us to create meaningful experiences and build the bank of tomorrow for our customers around the world.The role:Reporting to the Senior Manager, Release Management, you are part of a team that manages the risk of product delivery for all IT changes while ensuring the Canadian Banking Release & Change Management policies and processes are adhered to. The incumbent will support the Release Management transformation mandate and be responsible for the following:
- Support and evolve the Release Management operating model.
- Perform release and change planning and holistic risk mitigation reviews activities.
- Design, develop, and maintain business intelligence solutions.
- Streamline and automate reporting solutions.
- Independently investigate ad-hoc issues, propose different options, and drive issue resolution
- Create data improvement strategies & framework.
- Ensure release/project teams meet the quality gates to ascertain release readiness.
- Recognize potential issues and establish solutions.

- Champion a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
- Lead and drive continuous improvements towards enterprise and industry standardization in Release and Change management processes.
- Innovate to raise the bar on release management competencies through automation, modern technology and best practices.
- Provide leadership in working collaboratively with our stakeholders and constituents to plan & co-ordinate through the application release lifecycle, manage risks, measure and monitor release progress. Responsible for ensuring that resources, timelines and the overall quality of the process are considered.
- Build and maintain strong, trusted working relationships within IT&S to evolve the release management discipline and competency.
- Identify gaps and opportunities for making tactical improvement in existing release and change processes to improve the maturity of adoption by engineering teams.
- Provide SME support to stakeholders to investigate, assess and resolve complex problems and conflicts impacting releases and changes. Work closely with the other release management, test environment, development, service management and quality assurance teams.
- Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role?
- Must have excellent communication (verbal/written/presentation) and interpersonal skills.
- Curiosity and a desire to learn.
- Excellent understanding of computer software, programming, risk management and system reliability concepts and elements.
- Must have strong organization, problem solving and analytical skills.
- Release and change management experience.
- Post-secondary education in Computer Science, engineering or information technology domain
- Critical thinking & negotiation ability to respond in a dynamic environment with sound decisions and solutions.
- You can demonstrate experience in Project Management methodology, principles, and tools.
- It’s an asset if you have experience with Traditional and Agile methodologies, JIRA, Confluence, PowerBi reporting and knowledge of the Software Delivery Life Cycle (SDLC).
- General knowledge and exposure to various networking protocols, technology stack concepts and platforms.
In addition, if you have the following skills, that’ll be awesome:
- Development and SDLC experience an asset.
- Demonstrated ability to understand modern approaches to release deployment in support of continuous delivery.
- ITIL4 / PMP certification.
