In comparison to other utilities in Canada, QEC faces unique challenges as it operates 25 stand-alone diesel power generation facilities and distribution systems located in each of the territory’s communities.Regional Customer Service Administrator (QEC 24-053)Iqaluit, NunavutReporting to the Manager, Billings and Collections, the Regional Customer Service Administrator is responsible for the administration of the assigned regional office. The position is accountable for scheduling and assigning tasks to support staff, addressing customer inquiries and complaints, receiving payments, making bank deposits, coding and data entry of invoices and meter tickets, and processing incoming office mail.Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepares disconnect letters, makes payment arrangements with customers and prepares the appropriate paperwork, makes necessary updates in the system, assigns disconnections and load limiter installations, monitors customer payment arrangements and applies disconnection fees.
  • Schedules workforce and assigns work tasks to support staff in assigned regional offices.
  • Processes payments, including receiving payments from payment stations, preparing deposits, and entering payments into the system.
  • Assists customers with billing questions, accepts, and posts payments.
  • Processes connections and disconnections.
  • Processes vendor invoices, including proofing, coding, and forwarding invoices to Accounts Payable.
  • Assists the Revenue Manager in determining customer adjustments.
  • Conducts collections within the region as required

Required Qualifications Include:

  • High school diploma.
  • One year of general office experience.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office, Adobe and the internet.

Assets:

  • Post secondary education in office or business administration is an asset.

A combination of education and equivalent experience may be considered.We offer a competitive starting salary range of $77,980.50 to $88,461.22 and a northern living allowance of $16,008.00 per annum. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package, including a defined-benefit pension program. Accommodation is not guaranteed at this point and will be allocated when available.
