This is a specialist Public Health role within Cardiff and Vale Local Public Health Team that contributes to the planning, development, delivery and evaluation of partnership programmes and initiatives to promote health and well-being across all sectors.The postholder will lead on specific elements of the implementation and delivery of health promotion programmes in the early years settings across and the Vale of Glamorgan, through the Healthy and Sustainable Pre School Scheme.Responsibilities are at a local Public Health Team level and the postholder is expected to work under the direction and guidance of Senior Public Health staff/Public Health Director who will agree specific work objectives on an annual basis according to local needs and priorities.This post is Fixed Term/Secondment for 12 months due to the needs of the service.If you are interested in applying for the secondment position, you must obtain permission from your current line manager prior to applying for this post.Main duties of the jobTo lead and drive successful delivery of public health programmes of work to include delivering on the Vale Healthy and Sustainable Pre School Scheme,which will include stakeholders from a wide range of organisations and to co-ordinate specific activity around early years, in partnership with UHB Communication teams and wider stakeholdersSpecialist knowledge of public health – acquired through relevant degree, supplemented by knowledge and understanding of environmental and social issues acquired through professional training, extended courses to post graduate / diploma level.To use analytical skills to interpret complex information and evidence relating to the different components of Early Years work, health and wellbeing, sustainability, resilient settings and local needsTo lead the development of the Vale Healthy & Sustainable Pre School Scheme programme so that a sustainable set of actions are implemented and monitoredTo provide specialist knowledge on public health programmes and sustainability advice to partners which enables active partnership participationTo work with key partners and external experts to lead and develop a monitoring and evaluation framework.To work independently and support the implementation of policies and plans as set out in agreed annual objectives and work plan.The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.About usCardiff and Vale University Health Board is one of the largest Integrated Health Boards in the UK, employing over 17,000 staff, providing over 100 specialist services.
