Job description
As a Back-End Developer in the Driver & Vehicle group, you will play a crucial role in our newly formed Secure Image Management Systems (SIMS) DevOps Product Team. In this role you will work collaboratively with other Product Team members to design and develop a highly efficient and reliable back-end for our new cloud-based SIMS application.Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable code
- Create database schemas that represent and support business processes
- Implement security and data protection measures
- Integrate data storage solutions and optimize application performance
- Collaborate with front-end developers to integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic
- Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade existing systems
- Develop and implement automated testing platforms and unit tests
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to team best practices
- Stay updated with emerging technologies and industry trends
QualificationsKnowledge and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science (or related field) or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience
- Knowledge of the following:
- Agile methodologies
- Test-driven development
- Microservices architecture
- Containerization and orchestration
- Software design patterns and principles
- Asynchronous programming
- DevOps and CI/CD practices
- Agile development practices
- Cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure
- 2+ years of back-end development experience
Technologies
- Languages: Java,
- Build Tools: Gradle, Maven
- Web application frameworks: SpringBoot
- Database: MongoDB, PostgreSQL
- Containerization: Docker, Kubernetes
- Interfaces: REST, WebSocket, JSON
- CI/CD Tools: Azure DevOps, Jenkins, Git, Terraform
