Job SummaryJob DescriptionWhat is the opportunity?As an Associate Director (AD), you will be required to support Directors in the Bank’s Real Estate Markets group. You will be responsible for analyzing and underwriting new loan requests with the use of the Bank’s Risk Assessment Framework, Financial Analysis and Credit Tools. The primary responsibility of the AD is to compile financial information and prepare credit submissions to the Bank’s credit group. Other responsibilities of the AD include: daily administration of the Group’s lending portfolio; performing annual credit reviews of the existing portfolio; liaise both internally and externally with various stakeholders in the credit process; and actively participate in other team initiatives (industry research reports / ad hoc portfolio strategy requests / portfolio reporting management).What will you do?Focus on financing requests in the BC real estate markets;Provide the Directors with specific deal support as it relates to bilateral and syndicated senior secured loans including: budgetary analysis, cash flow analysis, financial statements analysis, market analysis and credit writing;Provide portfolio management oversight with assigned portfolios.What do you need to succeed?Must-haveExperience in commercial credit specifically commercial real estate underwriting analysis;Effective time management skills and ability to prioritize multiple requests to meet clients’ needs;Undergraduate degree in Business, Economics, Accounting, or Finance with strong quantitative, financial modeling, and analytical skills, as well as an ability to analyze company financial statements;Demonstrated ability to work and collaborate effectively;Strong computer skills (especially Microsoft Excel);Professional and effective oral and written communication skills;Must be an independent worker and team player with a positive attitude;Self – motivated proactive thinker with detail-oriented and creative problem solving approach;Ability to quickly develop a working knowledge of programs and systems employed by the Bank; andOngoing and consistent adoption of the Bank’s goals and core values.Nice-to-have3-6 years’ experience in commercial real estateExperience working with large, complex real estate credit exposures and syndicated transactionsMBA, CPA or CFAWhat’s in it for you?We thrive on the challenge to be our best, progressive thinking to keep growing, and working together to deliver trusted advice to help our clients thrive and communities prosper.
