Why join this team:Responsible for leading and overseeing all aspects of risk, including compliance, operational, financial, and reputational risks, within our Cards and Payments departments. This individual will play a critical role in identifying, assessing, mitigating, and monitoring risks while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and enhancing the risk framework for our payment systems and card products.This position is expected to be hybrid.NYC Salary Range – $123,040 – $165,000 annually; compensation is commensurate to geographic location. What you’ll do:

- Develop and implement a comprehensive risk and compliance framework for cards and payments, including credit cards, debit cards, and digital payment solutions.
- Identify and assess risks across all areas of the cards and payment lifecycle, including compliance, operational, strategic, financial, fraud, and third-party risks.
- Ensure adherence to applicable regulations such as Regulation E, Regulation Z, Regulation CC, BSA/AML, and UDAAP.
- Oversee operational risks related to payment processing, technology systems, and member service.
- Oversee the management of card network compliance (e.g., Visa, Mastercard) and ensure alignment with industry standards (e.g., PCI DSS).
- Develop and maintain policies, procedures, and controls to address risk areas, including transaction monitoring, fraud detection, and dispute resolution.
- Perform monitoring and quality control testing to ensure existing and proposed cards and payments-related business practices, policies, procedures, software systems, documents and disclosures comply with federal and state regulations.
- Act as a credible advisor and partner to the business lines, Enterprise Risk Management, Legal and other stakeholders.
- Serve as a point of contact for regulatory agencies and auditors concerning credit card and payment compliance matters.
- Track and monitor the remediation of issues identified in internal audits, compliance monitoring reviews and regulatory examinations.
- Regularly report risk metrics and findings to senior management and governance committees.
What we’re seeking:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Risk Management, Law or a related field
- 5-7 years of risk and compliance experience in the banking industry with a focus on credit cards and payments, including responsibility for complying with applicable rules and regulations (consumer protection laws and regulation and supervisory compliance examination procedures)
- Strong knowledge of relevant regulations and standards, including Regulation E, Regulation Z, PCI DSS, and network operating rules (Visa, Mastercard, etc.)
- Experience in developing and implementing risk management frameworks for card products or payment solutions
- Strong project management and analytical skills
- Ability to independently plan, coordinate, and manage workload; demonstrate flexibility in making most effective use of resources to achieve objectives
