Job SummaryJob DescriptionWhat is the opportunity?As the Manager Business Risk and Reporting you will be part of a high energy WM segment wide shared services team within WM Operational Risk and Shared Services (OR&SS) to support Wealth Management (WM) businesses including Investor Services Canada (IS) in the delivery of the First Line of Defence Reporting programs, including preparation of Operating Committee reports, Key Risk Indicators (KRI), Risk Appetite metrics and provide corresponding analysis which enables key risk-based decision making by WM leadership in the execution of their Operational Risk Management programs. In this role you will assist in the design and execution of Operational Risk practices by supporting the intake, interpretation and dissemination of RBC’s Risk Standards and policies by engaging with stakeholders across RBC including GRM, and other support functions.What will you do?
- Support the Senior Director and Senior Manager of WM Business Risk and Reporting team in perform management requested analysis, reviews, and reporting for senior management within WM, including Investor Services.
- Report on Operational Risk Appetite and Key Risk Indicators for all WM Lines of Businesses including IS.
- Support the annual refresh of Operational Risk Appetite, measures and thresholds, including back testing.
- Support the reporting and monitoring of outstanding audit and ORM issues to ensure they are on track for completion within the required deadline. Review and verify evidence to close issues.
- Research and input Operational Risk Events (OREs); gather and validate information provided by business to ensure compliance with ORM standards.
- Support targeted reviews through planning, execution, reporting and identifying high quality issues reflecting risk and root cause analysis
- Support the WM Business Risk teams in the documentation and maintenance of key controls for high risk processes as required to meet the Internal Control Management Policy (ICMP) and Regulatory Compliance Management Program (RCM)
- You will partner with other groups within WM Operational Risk and Shared Services (OR&SS) to build, maintain risk data dashboards and to identify opportunities to leverage data for development of risk data analytics and control assurance
- Manage critical team archives and reference material – minutes, operating procedures, guidance documents, and supporting evidence for Operational Risk programs.
What do you need to succeed?Must Have
- University Degree with over 5 years of financial industry experience in functional areas such as Operational Risk, Internal Audit, Finance or Compliance
- Strong communication skills and ability to intake, disseminate, summarize and present risk information clearly to senior management
- Advanced knowledge and experience using Tableau, Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
- Risk monitoring and reporting experience – Experience synthesizing data from multiple sources into cogent, articulate arguments and /or presentations
- Experience in developing and producing reports as well as mining and analysis of data and databases with strong problem solving, analytical, and research skills.
- Ability to deal effectively with senior management and multiple stakeholders.
Nice to Have
- Excellent knowledge of Wealth Management businesses such as Brokerage, Asset Management or Investor Services and Custody.
- Professional designation in Risk or Finance such as MBA, CPA, or CFA.
