These are some of the requirements that we need from you:

  • Enhanced child DBS on the update service or willingness to get one
  • Experience working with children or young people with additional care needs
  • Previous experience working as a teaching assistant or in a similar educational support role (required).
  • Experience in managing challenging behaviour and implementing behaviour support plans.
  • Understanding of special educational needs and individualised education plans (IEPs).
  • Familiarity with the national curriculum and how to adapt it for SEN students.
  • Knowledge of relevant SEND legislation and safeguarding policies.
  • Genuine interest in supporting the educational development of children with special needs.
  • Patience, empathy, and resilience.
  • A positive and proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Strong attention to detail and cultural sensitivity.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and reflective practice.
  • Ability to assist students with physical activities and personal care needs.
  • Physical stamina to be active throughout the school day.
