This will involve early contractor involvement (ECI) during the feasibility and optioneering phases to ensure the solutions selected are both cost-effective and buildable, with a strong focus on delivering schemes on time and within budget that meet the needs and objectives of DCWW and its customers and communities.Binnies will play a key role in helping DCWW meet key objectives through innovation in project delivery and providing low carbon and nature-based solutions that enhance biodiversity and reduce environmental impacts.This appointment strengthens Binnies’ position as a leading whole life-cycle design and build contractor who delivers sustainable, innovative solutions across the water industry.Binnies are looking for a Works Manager based in WalesAbout the RoleReporting to the Senior Project Manager, be responsible for the safe delivery of Water and Waste water projects throughout Wales and for ensuring that all company procedures and construction phase plans and all associated documentation is complied with.You will
- Ensure Health, Safety and Wellbeing is at the heart of all projects, delivering projects in line with CDM Regulations and all relevant H&S protocols providing health and safety leadership to operational delivery teams
- Demonstrate Operational and People Management abilities:
- Ensuring that the General Foremen or other site supervisors are organised and well-motivated to safely meet the programme milestones
- Support the General Foremen to work safely in accordance with assessed construction risks and adherence with the control measures defined in RAMS and Task Briefs
- Provide necessary support to ensure environmental risks, objectives and targets are met
- Manage the General Foremen, Foremen, Site Supervisors and other assigned resources including supply chain
- Support Project Management in defining the efficient and effective planning of the works and plant and labour resources
- Assist in the development, appraisal and wellbeing of the professionals within your teams.
Essential RequirementsYou should possess and be able to demonstrate the following qualifications, skills and knowledge:
- The role is suitable for candidates with a proven track record as a Works Manager (minimum 5 years) in delivering design and build programmes of work in water and waste water for a major contractor.
- Hold a current CITB SMSTS qualification or NEBOSH Health and Safety Management for Construction qualification
- Hold a relevant CSCS card
- Hold a current First Aid at Work qualification
Desirable RequirementsThe ideal candidate would also possess the following desirable competencies / experience:
- NVQ Level 6- Construction Site Management
- Hold a Crane Coordinator Qualification
- Hold a current EUSR Water Hygiene ‘Blue Card’[
