As we’ve delivered on this mission over the last 35 years, we have become the market leader in global telehealth services and digital health solutions for an extensive client base of Fortune 500 companies, NGO’s and governments around the world.About the roleThe Travel Risk Advisor will be a dedicated travel safety and security specialist providing client-specific support and advice to Komatsu’s workforce. The role will require a detailed understanding of the International SOS platform and tools by which to effectively and efficiently leverage the requisite expert regional knowledge in the International SOS Regional Security Centers in Philadelphia, London, Dubai and Singapore, as well as that of outposted security managers across several other countries.This is a full-time role based remotely in Philadelphia.Key responsibilities

  • Monitor Komatsu employees via Tracker prior to travel to ensure compliance with Komatsu’s policies and governmental regulations. Review all travel information and offer assistance when required.
  • Work with Komatsu key team members to assure that proper support is provided quickly and efficiently.
  • Be well versed with Komatsu procedures that assure that travelers are well prepared, educated, informed and supported before, during and after travel should any security or health related issue arise.
  • Provide office hours (after hours on-call) scalable response to incidents affecting Komatsu travelers and oversee emergency response plan alongside Komatsu designated points of contact. This includes provision of timely contextual information during an incident and advice on specific implications for Komatsu and appropriate escalation.
  • Communication with/reporting to key contacts and strategic partners.
  • Review day-to-day use of Komatsu’s International SOS service offerings and enable maximum utilization.
  • Partner with Komatsu’s various teams, Authorized Persons, and the International SOS’ Philadelphia Assistance Center (and Komatsu’s dedicated response team) to ensure seamless service delivery with a focus on excellent customer support to both Komatsu and the end users.
  • Work with Komatsu key team members to assure that proper support is provided quickly and efficiently.
  • Serve as the main day to day point of contact for the Komatsu, acting in a complimentary approach to International SOS’ Medical Director, Security Team, Operations Staff, and Komatsu Account Management Team.
  • Review and analysis of Komatsu case activity.
  • Be well-versed with Komatsu procedures that assure that travelers are prepared, educated, informed and supported before, during and after travel should any security or health related issue arise.
  • Provide response to incidents affecting Komatsu travelers and oversee emergency response plan alongside Komatsu designated point of contact. This includes provision of timely contextual information during an incident and advice on specific implications for Komatsu and appropriate escalation.
  • Communication with/reporting to Komatsu key contacts and strategic partners.
  • Appropriate level of communications to reach all affected travelers
  • Provide tailored travel risk assessments as requested.
  • Support on internal escalation planning and preparation initiatives.
  • Provide Tracker training sessions for Komatsu staff regionally.
  • Participate in business reviews.

About youRequired Skills and Knowledge

  • Detailed understanding of the International SOS platform and tools by which to effectively and efficiently leverage the requisite expert regional knowledge in the International SOS Regional Security Centers in Philadelphia, London, Dubai and Singapore, as well as that of outposted security managers across several other countries
  • Highly effective written and verbal communications in English; additional language preferred
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to make clear judgments about the impact of security incidents on client activities
  • Good organizational skills including ability to set goals, define objectives and plan for achievement
  • Use of technology for data reporting and online/virtual delivery of services

Preferred Work Experience

  • International work (security) experience
  • Experience in security operations management: in military, government, or private sector roles

Required Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree (or relevant professional training) in a field related to security, risk management or international relations studies
  • Fluent spoken and written English language
