Project Summary:

The project focuses on improving peaceful coexistence, social cohesion, and livelihood opportunities in conflict-affected communities in Ninewa Governorate, particularly in Hamdaniya, Talafar, and Sinjar districts. It includes activities such as peace-oriented dialogue sessions, training for local political institutions, agricultural and vocational training, and coordination meetings between local and national peacebuilding institutions. The project targets returnees, host communities, and local authorities, emphasizing inclusivity and sustainability.

Job Summary:

The Community Mobilizer will support the Program Coordinator in organizing and implementing project activities at the community level. This role involves mobilizing community members, coordinating with stakeholders, and ensuring smooth delivery of activities such as training sessions, workshops, and consultations. The Community Mobilizer will serve as a bridge between the project team and the communities, ensuring active participation and support for the project’s objectives.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Under the overall supervision of the Director of Programs and direct supervision of the Project Coordinator, the Community Mobilizer shall perform the following duties:

1. Engage with community leaders, parents, and other stakeholders to disseminate information about the project and encourage community support.

2. Build strong connections with communities and mobilize members to participate in community-based activities and interventions.

3. Assist in organizing project events, including practical training sessions, workshops, and consultations with community members and leaders.

4. Coordinate with local authorities, both formal and informal, as well as IDP/refugee focal points to ensure effective communication and collaboration.

5. Collaborate with other actors in the area to ensure identified needs are met and activities are complementary.

6. Facilitate dialogue and interactive sessions with beneficiaries and other community members to promote engagement and understanding.

7. Identify relevant target groups and ensure they are informed and invited to planned events and sessions in a timely manner.

8. Address challenges related to community interventions by using participatory, community-driven approaches.

9. Prepare and submit regular activity reports for review and feedback by the project management team.

10. Adapt to flexible scheduling and logistical constraints, ensuring successful implementation of activities despite challenges.

11. Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor to support the project’s success

Qualifications & Preferred Skills

Required Qualifications and Skills:

· University degree in a related field.

· Demonstrated experience in community mobilization, awareness-raising campaigns, and working directly with community members and stakeholders.

· Proficiency in Arabic and English; knowledge of Kurdish is an asset.

· Strong ability to engage with beneficiaries across various age groups and backgrounds.

· Proficient in Microsoft Office programs.

· Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with the project team.

· Willingness to adapt to changing schedules, work extended hours, and travel to project locations as needed.

· Strong ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines under minimal supervision.

· Commitment to maintaining high standards of professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality.
