Accountant for my client near Chilliwack wanted!About The Opportunity:
My client, a well-known name in the timber products industry, is seeking a driven Intermediate Accountant to join our finance and office team in your office location near ChilliwackAbout The Role:
The role involves managing accounts payable and receivable, including reconciliations. The candidate will handle all AP/AR tasks, make payments to CRA, WorkSafeBC, and MOF, prepare and enter journal entries, and provide data analysis for senior team members to aid in decision-making. Additional duties may include project work and various ad hoc reporting.Responsibilities:
- Entry and reconciliation of accounts receivable and payable, including some invoicing.
- Processing payments to government agencies like Receiver General and WorkSafeBC, as well as to suppliers and contractors.
- Managing employee payroll and expense accounts.
- Handling banking requirements and bank reconciliation.
- Supporting ad hoc projects and reporting.
- Addressing and correcting account discrepancies.
- Assist with multiple entities across the business
Requirements:
- At least 3 years of accounting experience; an accounting degree or diploma is preferred. Previous logging industry experience is an asset.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel), with strong Excel skills.
- Strong technical skills for calculating, posting, and managing financial records.
- Detail-oriented with excellent data entry skills.
- Outstanding organizational, prioritizing, and time management abilities.
- Problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Adaptability to change.
- Motivation to handle a variety of tasks and projects.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Compensation:
- Around $58,000-$70,000
- Extended health benefits

- 3 Weeks’ vacation allowance
- Hybrid working after probation period
