Contract Type: Full-time/Part-timeDo you have a passion for supporting students with special educational needs and helping them achieve their goals?GSL Education are excited to invite applications from compassionate and dedicated individuals for the role of SEN Support Worker at a friendly and supportive school in Poole.About the Role:As an SEN Support Worker, you will play a vital role in fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment for students with additional needs. By working closely with teachers and specialists, you will provide tailored support to help students overcome challenges, build confidence and reach their full potential.Responsibilities:
- Deliver tailored support to students with Special Educational Needs, addressing their academic, social and emotional needs.
- Work closely with teachers and SENCOs (Special Educational Needs Coordinators) to implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
- Empower students to develop self-confidence and independent learning skills.
- Support teachers in managing classroom activities, ensuring all students are fully engaged.
- Employ strategies to promote positive behaviour and manage challenges effectively.
- Assist in delivering engaging lessons that cater to individual learning requirements.
- Foster a supportive atmosphere to encourage student participation and independence.
Monitor and report on student progress, celebrating achievements and identifying areas for improvement.What We’re Looking For:
- Previous experience working with children or young people with SEN, particularly in an educational setting is an advantage.
- Additional qualifications in education, childcare, or SEN are highly desirable.
- Knowledge of various learning difficulties, including autism spectrum disorder (ASD), ADHD and speech and language needs.
- A patient, empathetic and nurturing approach.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with students, staff and families.
- Flexibility and adaptability to meet the needs of diverse learners.
To Work with GSL Education as an SEN Support Worker, You Must:
- Have the right to work in the UK.
- Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from the last two years.
- Have an enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service or be willing to apply for a new one through GSL Education.
