This is a fantastic opportunity start or continue your career in Pharmacy and Healthcare – no previous experience is necessary, and we will support you with lots of training and development opportunities.Hours This is a full time role, working an average of 37.5 hours per week. The Pharmacy team work a 2 week rolling rota – the shifts vary weekly, and you will work alternate weekends. Hours fall between 07:30 – 17:30.Salary This is a full time role, and the salary is £23,614 per annumHow will we support you?Bespoke induction, including our Introducing Health in Justice training courseCompetency frameworkRegional and national career development opportunitiesOur bespoke Learning Management System to address your learning needsSupport from the wider teamCandidates are required to have a Legal right to work in the UK and due to the nature of the role, offers of employment will be subject to additional vetting and security checks.Main duties of the jobAs our new Pharmacy Support Worker, your responsibilities will vary. Some of your duties will include:

  • Support the onsite Pharmacy Technicians and Pharmacy Manager, as well as the wider healthcare team
  • Second check medication before dispensing to patients on medication rounds
  • Contribute to services such as medicine reconciliation, managing stock medicines and transportation of medicines
  • Provide support to ensure a safe and secure medicines management service, following policies, procedures and standard operating procedures
  • Work in the medication hatches on the wings
  • Be a key member of a multi-disciplinary team of healthcare professionals

  • No experience is necessary – we are looking for someone with a keen interest in Pharmacy, and keen to pursue a career in Pharmacy and Healthcare
  • An NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Dispensing would be a bonus, but isn’t essential
  • Ideally have medicines handling experience, although this isn’t essential
  • Be a hard worker, diligent, with a high attention to detail
