Must be able to repair wallpaper seams and replace full sheets. Must be able to perform door and frame touch ups. Must be able to refinish furniture with stain and other various furniture in the guestrooms.   • Must present a well-groomed appearance.
  • Must have excellent leadership skills.
  • Must have good email and phone skills to call vendors, walk with leaders at casino on projects, or get quotes for material.
  • Must be flexible in schedule and support weekend needs if an emergency arises.
  • Knowledge of lead principles, practices, and techniques.
  • Knowledge of the tools, equipment, and materials common to the painting trade.
  • Skill in the preparation and application of paints to different types of surfaces.
  • Skill in estimating time and material requirements of work projects assigned.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Interviews or trains assigned employees or makes effective suggestions and recommendations that are given particular weight regarding the employment status of assigned employees.
  • Schedules, assigns, and plans the work of paint shop personnel performing a variety of painting projects.
  • Plans and develops project schedules, equipment usage schedules, priority of painting expenditures and procedures for equipment maintenance.
  • Obtains estimates on material and labor.
  • Monitors the acquisition and use of materials.
  • Trains or informs employees of new work methods or procedures, changes in safety regulations, and work policies.
  • Ensures budgeting guidelines are met for each project; prioritizes shop expenditures to stay within budget; assists in preparation of capital and operations budgets.
  • Performs painting jobs and related repairs as assigned for the property either by self or with team.
  • Keep weekly inventory on all supplies and clean inventory rooms clean and safe.
  • Stay up to date on new products and or systems that will support productivity needs of paint team.
  • Work with Facilities Director, Managers and Supervisors in coordinating projects and scheduling work.
  • Must be able to meet the attendance guidelines of the job and adhere to departmental and company policies.
  • Must be able to identify specific paints and finishes and make repairs after leaks have been completed.
  • Must be able to train other facilities employees on techniques for paint touch ups to door/door frames and wallpaper seam repairs and or replacement.

Physical, Mental & Environmental Demands:

  • Must be capable of maneuvering for prolonged periods of time, both inside and outside sometimes in temperatures more than 115 degrees or cold temperatures below 10 degrees.
  • Must possess coordination and dexterity to work with power and hand tools such as drills, electric saws, hammers, etc.
  • Respond to visual and aural cues.
  • Must be able to stoop, bend, jump, and carry heavy loads.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Able to maneuver on level surfaces, as well as up and down stairs.
  • Must be able to think clearly and respond calmly in situations.

Pay: $27.00 per hour, depending on experienceThe above is a minimal description of duties and responsibilities.
