Location: Amala Learning Centre, Amman, Jordan
Duration: 15-month fixed-term contract with the possibility of extension based on funding
Start Date: Monday, 3 March 2025
Hours:
- Full-time: 5 days per week, including weekends
- Part-time: 3 days per week, including weekends
- Candidates must be available to work on weekends and attend team and Amala-wide meetings/workshops.

The Role
As a GSD Educator, you will be responsible for teaching, learning, and supporting the wellbeing of Amala students. This includes facilitating courses, mentoring students, and fostering a transformative educational experience.
Key Responsibilities
Course Facilitation
- Design and facilitate at least one Amala course per semester.
- Create, document, and deliver engaging learning experiences to help students achieve Amala’s competencies.
- Continuously evaluate and improve learning resources and teaching methods.
- Use Amala resources ethically and effectively to support student learning.
Student Mentoring
- Help students reflect on their learning and identify portfolio work as evidence of competency.
- Assess student work against Amala’s evaluation criteria and provide constructive feedback.
- Support students in overcoming challenges and engaging family or significant adults in their learning journey.
Safeguarding and Wellbeing
- Adhere to Amala’s safeguarding policy in all interactions with students.
- Identify and document any wellbeing concerns and collaborate with the program coordinator to address them.
- Foster an inclusive, supportive environment for all students.
Student Pathways
- Build partnerships with community organizations to support student learning and pathways.
- Assist students in identifying and applying for realistic pathway opportunities.
- Provide references and recommendation letters as needed.
Professional Growth & Development
- Participate in the Amala Educator Development Programme.
- Strive for continuous improvement in facilitation and evaluation of student competencies.
- Contribute to fostering Amala’s culture of collaboration and learning.
Additional Responsibilities
- Assist with logistical aspects of program delivery, such as managing student transportation and internet support.
- Represent Amala externally to enhance its recognition and impact.
- Support data collection for monitoring and evaluation (M&E).
- Perform other tasks as required to support Amala’s mission.

Essential
- Commitment to supporting young people in achieving their goals.
- Belief in Amala’s educational approaches (e.g., agency, life-worthy learning, competencies).
- Experience creating inclusive, interactive learning environments.
- Fluency in Arabic and English.
- Familiarity with online tools (e.g., Google Workspace) and online education tools.
- Ability to work with diverse ages and abilities (16–25 years).
- Availability for a 15-month commitment, including weekend work.
Desirable
- Knowledge of potential pathways for students.
- Experience working with diverse backgrounds and volunteers.
