Job DescriptionPosition: Senior Residential PractitionerSector: Residential Services for Children and Young People
Location: Darlington
Salary: £28,272 – £29,420 (without Level 3) / £29,714 – £31,231 (with Level 3)
Hours: Full-time (40 hours per week)
Shift Pattern: 8 AM – 8 PM on a rolling rota; includes day and night shifts, maximum of 4 days a week with weekends one on and one off.Client DescriptionThe client specialises in providing residential step-down services and specialist education for children and young people with complex needs, learning disabilities, and mental health issues. They also cater to children who have experienced trauma or attachment issues. With over 20 years of experience and homes across the UK, they are committed to a creative and nurturing approach that focuses on individualised support programs.Key Responsibilities

  • Assessment & Planning: Oversee the implementation of complex care plans tailored to the individual needs of children and young people.
  • Mentorship: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior staff, fostering their professional development.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality service delivery.
  • Case Management: Manage a caseload of children with diverse and challenging needs, regularly evaluating care plans’ effectiveness.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience: At least 2 years’ experience working with children in a social care setting.
  • Approach: A trauma-informed and mental health-aware approach to care.
  • License: Valid driving license held for 2+ years.
  • Resilience: Must demonstrate resilience in handling complex situations.
