Job description

Our dental practice in North Jersey is looking for a full-time, highly motivated Dental Billing Specialist who is comfortable communicating with patients about treatment plans, billing, and insurance details. If you have a passion for patient care, strong organizational skills, and extensive experience in dental billing, we would love to meet you!Qualifications:

• Minimum 1-2 years of dental experience required.
• Proficient in dental terminology and procedures.
• Extensive knowledge of PPO, Union, Med-Type, HMO, and DMO insurance plans.
• Skilled in verifying insurance benefits and coverage.
• Experienced in calculating copays, deductibles, and out-of-pocket fees.
• Familiarity with Care Credit and other financial programs.
• Ability to read and interpret EOBs (Explanation of Benefits) and patient ledgers.
• Strong ability to review and research claims denials, and effectively communicate with insurance companies to resolve issues.

Responsibilities:

• Research and navigate insurance policies, benefits, and exclusions to provide accurate information to patients.
• Review and interpret dental EOBs, including patient deductibles, co-pays, and insurance/third-party correspondence.
• Communicate pre-authorization requirements to patients in-office or via phone.
• Assist patients in understanding their treatment plan details, billing, and payment options.
• Follow up with insurance companies to resolve billing discrepancies, claim denials, or policy issues.
