Job SummaryJob DescriptionWhat is the opportunity?RBC Family Office Services is a team of over 250 financial planning, legal, estate, taxation, business owner and business succession planning specialists, as well as individuals in head office roles, who support Investment Advisors and RBC Canadian Banking. The RBC Family Office Services team helps advisors and advisor teams deliver integrated wealth management expertise and planning to clients and their families.Financial Advisory Support (FAST) is a centralized subject matter expert team of highly accredited tax, estate and advanced planning professionals responsible for providing specific tax, estate and financial planning information to advisors and clients within RBC.What will you do?Primary contact for RBC advisors, Wealth Management clients and client-facing Family Office Services professionals for sound guidance on a broad range of technical tax, estate and financial planning ideas and strategiesEffectively communicate expert knowledge around issues affecting HNW individuals and private business owners, such as: corporate reorganizations, investing through a holding company, use of trust structures, sale of a business, employee stock options, etc.Provide guidance and information on legal issues that may arise in the context of tax and estate planning mattersProvide guidance and information with respect to estate, incapacity and disability planning, including Wills and powers of attorney, family law matters and creditor protection strategiesResearch and write technical publications and articles, with the ability to simplify and communicate complex strategies to non-technical advisors and their HNW clientsLead presentations on specific topics to advisors on a periodic basisKeep current with pertinent legislative changesActively participate in strategic projects with internal business partners across the organizationWhat do you need to succeed?Must haveUniversity degree supported by a professional designation (CPA, MTax or LL.B.)7 years of related experience in tax, estate, and advanced financial planningStrong research skills, analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to analyze dataAble to work independently and collaboratively within a teamDedication and motivation to achieve high standards of client service, accuracy and professionalism in the performance of dutiesThe ability to prioritize and organize multiple assignments to consistently meet deadlinesExcellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skillsBilingualism (English and French) required, as you will regularly serve our clients and do business with RBC partners and/or employees across Canada with English and French speaking needs.Nice to haveFinancial planning designation: CFP, RFP, or IQPF is an assetCICA In Depth tax course or equivalent a strong assetUS Planning knowledge would be a strong assetOwner-manager taxation and corporate reorganizationsWhat’s in it for you?We thrive on the challenge to be our best, progressive thinking to keep growing, and working together to deliver trusted advice to help our clients thrive and communities prosper.
