SET CAMHS Senior Practitioner Band 7North SET-CAMHShas an exciting opportunity for a qualified professional to step into an established role within a diverse and experienced team. We are a large, friendly and innovative team that cover the areas of North Essex (Colchester and Tendring). Children and young people who are referred to SET-CAMHS may present with a range of mental health difficulties which may include: low mood, anxiety, trauma and other emotional difficulties.We welcome interest and applications from experienced post-graduate qualified psychological practitioners (e.g. psychologist, family therapist, child and adolescent psychotherapist) or graduate qualified health care professional (e.g. nurse, social worker, occupational therapist), fully registered with the appropriate professional or regulatory body (e.g. HCPC, NMC). We also welcome applications from practitioners who are in the process of obtaining their full accreditation with their regulatory body as part of a preceptorship programme (a band 6 role for 1 year, with the aim of progressing to band 7 after 1 year provided all requirements of preceptorship are fulfilled, including full accreditation with relevant regulatory body)Main duties of the jobWorking as a Senior CAMHS Practitioner in North Essex you would have a high standard of knowledge and experience of working with young people in CAMH services who are experiencing a range of mental health presentations.We are looking for a dynamic individual who is passionate about helping young people and their families. You would ideally have experience of supervising and managing others, although support and training can be given for this to the right candidate. You would alsohave akeen interestin developing innovative strategies to support young people and their families.The role of a Senior Practitioner is to support the development and implementation of a range of interventions such as parent work, group work, school observations of children, short term CAMHS input and specialist psychological treatments, as indicated by the SET-CAMHS and NICE guidance. You will be responsible for assessment, treatment and systematic outcome measurement within the team.As well as holding your own case load, the senior practitioner supports theirclinical team to delivertherapeutic interventions through supervision, teaching, and mentoring. Knowledge and experience of delivering interventions withinchild mental health is essential. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop in sessions focusing in engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. The service is also for young people with special educational needs (SEN) up to the age of 25. The EWMHS service no longer exists and has been replaced by SET-CAMHS. SET-CAMHS services have included: Advice, training and support for other health and social services A range of services including parenting and family groups, short psychological treatments and mindfulness in schools More in-depth psychological treatments, which are evidence based and delivered by highly skilled practitioners in specialist teams Help and support for all young people at times of crisis Online and digital services such as TogetherallAll referrals to the service are assessed using a care pathways approach, developed in line with the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence guidance criteria (NICE) and based on a best practice model of treatment.Locality Teams in CAMHSSET-CAMHS focuses on emotional wellbeing as well as mental health and includes access to self-help tools and services based in schools and the community. The service is driven by the principles underpinning the national CYP-IAPT programme (Children and Young Peoples Improving Access to Psychological Therapies); evidence based interventions, routine measurement of outcomes, access to high quality training and supervision for professionals and true co-production with children and young people.Senior practitioners, along with the rest of the team, ensure that a high quality, timely, accessible and evidence-based service is available to all children and young people who need it.
