Job Location: 975 Gladstone Ave., Ottawa ON (primary) / 145 Richmond Rd., Ottawa ON (secondary)Work Model: On-sitePOSITION SUMMARYAs an Industrial Electrician in our Machinery Maintenance group, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the operational readiness of our security printing and finishing equipment, related to currency, passports, identification cards, etc. You will be responsible for diagnosing issues, repairing, and maintaining the following (but not limited to) equipment: lamination lines; inspection and transport systems; cutting systems; packaging equipment; printing presses; collation and sewing lines; robotics.WHAT WE CAN OFFER YOU

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Implementation and System Integration
  • Oversee the installation and commissioning of electrical systems, ensuring they meet performance criteria.
  • Conduct tests and simulations to validate system performance and identify any issues that need to be addressed.
  • Liaise with equipment vendor’s subject matter experts as required.
  • Troubleshooting
  • Provide technical support and troubleshoot integrated systems (e.g. signaling, sensors, remote service, general communications).
  • De-bug/correct various software issues.
  • Repairs and Maintenance
  • Perform corrective repairs and replace faulty/defective parts as required.
  • Monitor integrated systems and perform preventive maintenance according to prescribed schedules.
  • Source and order spare parts and ensure stock levels are sufficient to prevent any unnecessary production stoppages.
  • Organize and coordinate remote vendor service support when required
  • Documentation
  • Document maintenance events and repairs.
  • Safety and Standards
  • Ensure all electrical systems comply with relevant safety standards and regulations.

QUALIFICATIONSKnowledge and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering is preferred; Diploma in Electrical Engineering Technology (or similar) will be considered
  • Licensed Industrial Electrician (Ontario)
  • Production environment experience (up to 600 volts)
  • Knowledge of the following:
  • Electrical engineering principles
  • Machine operating principles
  • Regulatory knowledge
  • Ontario Health and Safety Act
  • 3+ years of relevant professional experience

  • Proficiency with MS O365 (Word, Excel, SharePoint, etc.)

MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS

  • Fluency in English
  • Ability to work outside of normal business hours as required (overtime, call-ins)
  • Ability to perform the physical requirements of the position – standing for prolonged periods, bending, lifting
