Placement Title: Community Care Support Worker (In Home Service) Due to growing demand for our services, Western Alzheimers Mayo are currently recruiting community based Care Support Workers in the Belmullet area to provide In-Home Support (non-medical) for people living with dementia and their carers. The primary role will be to provide companionship & support to the person living with dementia which will allow their primary carer a break. Tasks will include assisting with Activities of Daily Living, social interaction and meaningful activities such as a playing board games/music/gentle exercises/arts & crafts etc. This role will also give you the opportunity to avail of experience Working hours are 19.5 hours per week which can be flexible – choose hours to fit around your schedule. We are looking for honest and reliable individuals to support our clients and their families. A full drivers licence and access to transport essential. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who may have cared for elderly relatives and is looking to upskill. However this role is a developmental opportunity – no previous experience is necessary. Comprehensive induction & training will be provided & full support and guidance offered to staff. It will also be a stepping stone to becoming a qualified Health Care Assistant through completion of QQI Level 5 Healthcare qualification & industry standard training.
