If you do, this may be the job for you!Our Port Hope location is looking for a Project Coordinator, Remediation West, to be accountable for the delivery of large-scale remediation and restoration projects, characterized as multi-year in duration, often involving substantial safety and regulatory requirements with many internal and external interactions, contracts requiring substantial negotiation of terms and conditions, having many work packages, resources, and interfaces to manage, and involving a significant financial commitment (more than $50 million). - Planning, organizing, leading, and controlling the effective integration of all work areas and disciplines within the project.
- Implementing project management tools, methods, and best practices to plan and manage projects to align with stakeholders’ expectations and meet business needs.
- Identifying project risks and barriers and the development of mitigation strategies.
- Reporting and regularly interfacing with the senior management and clients regarding project status updates and expectations.
- Executing the contract and procurement strategy: understanding contracts requiring substantial negotiation of terms and conditions, as well as having many work packages, resources, and interfaces to manage.
- Coordinating a team of CNL staff, consultants and contractors in the remediation of the Low Level Radioactive Waste on the site(s).
- Ensuring all team members use applicable safety equipment and adhere to safe work policies/practices, radiation protection policies/practices and any other CNL safety requirements as mandated by the organization.
- Frequently collaborate with the Communications & Stakeholder Relations team, providing and receiving input, participating in public relations events as needed.
- Implementing substantial safety and licensing requirements with many internal and external regulatory interactions.
What we are looking for:
- Education
- A degree OR diploma from a college/university relevant to project management, engineering, environmental science or equivalent, and a track record for leading large projects from the definition, budgeting, and design through to construction.
- Experience
- Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of progressively responsible project experience, preferably related to large construction and/or remediation projects OR
- 8+ years with no formal post-secondary progressively responsible project experience, preferably related to large construction and/or remediation projects.
- Experience supervising the work of contractors, consultant engineers, and vendors in fieldwork and construction oversight.
- Experience with project management software, tools and practices used to plan, execute and control projects as an asset.
- Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Strong project management skills, including planning, budgeting, resourcing, contract management, and progress reporting for an executive audience.
- Applies all nine project management knowledge areas (i.e., Scope, Cost, Time, QA, Communications, Human Resources, Risk, Procurement, and Integration).
- Excellent team-building and consensus-reaching skills.
- Security Clearance Eligibility Required
- Reliability Status with Site Access Security Clearance (SASC), which has a minimum requirement of 3-5 years of verifiable history in Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the United States and/or the United Kingdom. CNL implements security screening in accordance with the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat’s “Standard on Security Screening” and the “Policy on Government Security.”

Location:CNL’s Historic Waste Program Management Office is in Port Hope, Ontario’s beautiful and historic community.
