We are seeking a passionate, driven, and energetic candidate to join our team for the position of Vice President, Finance, located in our Head Office in Guelph, Ontario.Job Description:The strategic and results-driven Vice President, Finance will lead and optimize financial operations across Skyline’s Funds and its affiliate operating companies. This senior leadership role will drive in-depth financial analysis, reporting, and internal controls to support financially driven decision making and the seamless delivery of comprehensive financial services. With a fundamental focus on accounting, budgeting, and compliance with generally accepted accounting principles, the successful candidate will demonstrated strong people leadership skills and financial integrity to support Skyline’s mission of maximizing profitability, creating stakeholder value, and fueling future growth.What you’ll be doing:
- Financial Oversight & Reporting – Ensure accuracy in all financial reports (monthly, quarterly, annual) before distribution to leadership. Analyze financial performance, trends, and compliance, providing strategic insights and updates.
Strategic Financial Leadership – Support Senior Management with financial planning, cost/revenue analysis, and risk assessment. Guide operational companies on financial challenges, including capital financing for growth.Budgeting, Cash Flow & Compliance – Oversee tax planning, regulatory compliance, budgeting, and cash flow management across all entities. Lead financial audits and drive process improvements.Corporate Growth & Due Diligence – Lead financial due diligence for acquisitions, dispositions, and new developments. Manage key relationships with lenders, financial institutions, and insurance providers.Leadership & Governance – Act as a key liaison to the Executive Board and Board of Trustees, providing financial insights and strategic recommendations. Foster a culture of accountability and professional development within all finance departments.What we look for:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business.
- CPA designated.
- Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in financial analyses, financial statement preparation, overseeing internal controls, and reporting in a complex, fast-paced and high demands environment.
- Minimum of five (5) years of management experience in a mid-to-senior level finance or accounting leadership position (e.g. Divisional Controlled, Controller, Director of Finance, etc.)
- Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills, with the ability to translate insights into actionable strategies.
- Extensive knowledge of accounting and financial planning, management, analysis, reporting and accountability theories, concepts and techniques.
- Proven experience applying GAAP and relevant IFRS principles.
- Strong knowledge of mortgages, amortization schedules, interest rate sensitivity analysis.
- General understanding of REIT investment markets.
- Proven experience with short- and long-term budgeting and forecasting, rolling budgets, and product-line profitability analysis.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across all levels of the organization.
- Demonstrated leadership experience, with the ability to inspire and develop a high-performing team.
