As a Sr Developer, you will be required to collaborate with project manager/scrum master, business analysts, developers, QAs, release management and production support to work on IT integration strategy that aligns with the business on all aspects and requirements to ensure smooth integration with scope and on budget. This role coordinates solution design based on end-to-end architecture analysis, application development, deployment capabilities and willingness to coach junior team members.What will you do?Designing, coding, analyzing, and modifying programming systems, including encoding, testing, debugging and installing for a large-scale systemContribute to technical design, development, and implementation of applicationsDesign, build, and maintain APIs, Microservices and Responsive web applications by leveraging best practices alongside a global development teamIntegrate applications with 3rd party tools and deploy to cloud servicesImplement effective automation testing strategies along with the build activitiesEnsure code quality, performance, scalability, responsiveness of applicationsWork with technology vendors and own relationships with them to drive seamless delivery of dependent applicationsConduct and contribute to design and code reviews ensuring our apps are scalable, testable, and maintainableParticipate in post-implementation reviews of application, development, and processes, continually working to create a learning environment by sharing with othersWork in an Agile team environment which is fast paced, fun and collaborativeEnsuring the operating efficiency of existing application systems. Maintaining records for the documentation of systems development and revisionsConducting analyses of organizational needs and goals for the development and implementation of application systemsWorking with different RBC internal teams for software feature delivery, support and bug fixesStay current and competitive by keeping up to date with the latest platform capabilities, security, performance, and reusabilityWhat do you need to succeed?
Must have:Minimum of 8 years relevant development and design experience such as OO, developing RESTful APIs and microservices.5+ years of programming languages (Core Java, shell script)5+ years in Java Spring Boot development (Advanced Java)Solid Understanding of Agile and Relational Databases3+ years in working in Agile/Scrum environmentProficiency in XML and JSON technologiesKnowledge of developing distributed cloud applications (Azure, OpenShift, Docker); Hands on experience designing, developing, testing and troubleshooting RESTful API and interface specifications (Swagger, SOAP)Knowledge of security gateways and protocols (JWT, OAuth2.0, OIDC, SSL Certificates)Full software development life-cycle experience with CI/CD and thorough testing prior to releaseExperience in Agile tools: Confluence, JiraGood communication, strong analytical and problem-solving skillsUndergraduate degree/diploma in computer science/engineering or related technology disciplineNice-to-haveKnowledge of major architectures style (message oriented, reactive, event based)Micro-service architecture, design, and implementation (load balancing, discovery, resiliency)Good eye for UX design and being able to collaborate closely with our UX designers.Knowledge of modern SaaS platforms for Platform Analytics, Monitoring, UX, and Management (Google Analytics, Firebase, and others)What’s in it for you?We thrive on the challenge to be our best, progressive thinking to keep growing, and working together to deliver trusted advice to help our clients thrive and communities prosper.
