General Description of the Role (Brief): |
The senior program officer will be responsible for overseeing and managing the design, implementation, and monitoring of a portfolio of programs within our ingo. This role is instrumental in ensuring programmatic success, impact, and alignment with the organization’s mission and goals.
The duration of the position is 4 months with possible extension based on availability of funds
Main Responsibilities: Program Strategy Development: · Lead the development and refinement of program strategies, objectives, and frameworks. · Ensure alignment with the ingo’s mission, donor requirements, and community needs. Project Proposal Management: · Oversee the preparation of project proposals, including budget estimates, timelines, and submissions. · Ensure the completeness, compliance, and consistency of project proposals with program goals. Program Implementation and Coordination: · Coordinate the execution of multiple projects within the program portfolio, ensuring alignment with program objectives. · Monitor project progress, address challenges, and provide guidance to project managers. · Support for the implementation of Iraq projects for institutional & AFH-HQ projects. Resource Allocation: · Manage program budgets, allocate resources effectively across projects, and monitor budget compliance. · Ensure financial and material resources are available for program activities. Quality Assurance: · Implement program quality assurance and control measures to ensure high-quality project deliverables. · Monitor project activities to meet established standards and specifications. Community and Partner Relations: · Cultivate positive relationships with project beneficiaries, local communities, and partner organizations. · Facilitate community participation, feedback, and collaboration in program activities. Program Evaluation and Reporting: · Establish and maintain program monitoring and evaluation systems to track program progress and outcomes. · Conduct regular assessments, analyze data, and report on program achievements and challenges. Reporting and Documentation: · Prepare and review program reports for internal stakeholders and donors. |

Qualifications & Preferred Skills
ACADEMIC REQUIREMENTS: |
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
Required Skills & Abilities · Proficiency in project and program management software and tools. · Strong leadership and team management skills. · Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities. · Effective communication, negotiation, and cross-cultural skills. |
. Thorough knowledge of donor regulations, reporting, and compliance.
