Join our dynamic Research & Development team at Somerset NHS Foundation Trust as a Band 5 Research Nurse, where you’ll play a key role in advancing patient care through innovative research studies.This opportunity is for a Nurse to work within the Research and Development Department supporting a range of both non-commercial and commercial research studies across the Trust, with particular emphasis on the cardiology department.We value our Research Nurses highly, so development and training within this role will be offered and prioritised so that you can conduct research safely as part of the South West Research Network. Providing a career pathway for further development within Research.Informal visits/chats are recommended – contact Helen Mills on Tel: 01823344906 or email : [email protected]Main duties of the jobAs Research Nurse, you’ll be involved in the safe conduct of research in cardiology, vascular and potentially other areas of research as part of the South West Research Network.Key Responsibilities

  • Recruit and support patients participating in clinical trials.
  • Ensure informed consent and provide ongoing patient care.
  • Collect and record accurate study data.
  • Liaise with clinical teams, research sponsors, and study coordinators.
  • Maintain compliance with UK and EU research governance standards.
  • Work flexibly to meet study requirements, including occasional weekend work.
