Job description
We are currently looking for qualified and experienced tutors to provide support to students with complex needs. Support is needed to embed the core subjects of Maths, English and Science into play-based and engaging learning. Tuition is in place for students with EHCP’s and a diagnosis of autism, so subjects would need to be tailored to the needs of the students.The tuition aspect of the role requires the tutors to deliver the core subjects to the pupils and the mentoring aspect of the role requires trips to the local area, helping the young people integrate into the local area, planning for the future and life skills.Due to the nature of the students we provide support to, applicants must have a background and strong understanding of SEN.Position Details:
- Location: Southwark
- Position:Play based Tutor
- Hours: Up to 15 hours per week
- Start date: ASAP
- Duration: ongoing
Experience, Training and Qualifications:
- QTS or equivalent
- Have experience working with SEND or disengaged pupils
- UK classroom teaching experience
- Be creative, patient and willing to think outside of the box
To be eligible for this role, the potential 1:1 Play based Tutor must:
- Hold the right to work in the UK
- Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
- Provide two professional child-related references.
