If so, ATB might be right for you.Please see below to learn more about this great summer opportunity.As ATB’s next Student, Investment & Expense Insight, you will have the opportunity to develop your financial acumen that in turn supports several different areas of the business. Your responsibilities will include, performing monthly variance analysis, preparing financial results summaries for stakeholders and leadership, creating process documentation, supporting business partners with day-to-day financial needs, and participating in special projects as they arise. The ideal candidate is self motivated, eager to roll up their sleeves and able to thrive in a hybrid work environment.Accountabilities

  • Perform and assist with period-end financial duties and reporting through: completion of journal entries, account reconciliations, and performing variance analysis
  • Assist with the preparation and validation of monthly and quarterly financial presentations and reports
  • Complete analysis required for budget/forecast preparation
  • Create and/or maintain current process documentation
  • Contribute to team efforts by accomplishing tasks as needed

Skills, experience & requirements

  • Currently enrolled in full-time studies in a post-secondary institution, with a concentration in Business. A focus in accounting would be considered an asset.
  • Basic to mid-level understanding of accounting concepts.
  • Good working knowledge of Google Suite tools (Sheets, Slides, etc.) with especially strong skills in Google Sheets.
  • Eagerness to roll up your sleeves and take on (and seek out) new challenges.
  • An intense curiosity and desire to learn. Come with an inquisitive and growth mindset. Be confident to ask questions, seek information, dissect problems, and suggest innovative solutions.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and detail-orientation skills.
