The primary function is to provide day-to-day engineering operations and maintenance for the radio system infrastructure.
Duties will include coordination, design, implementation, and operation of the flight operations dispatch center; design, specification, and implementation of the GTA radio system and the LMR system; satisfying architectural, functional, budgetary and schedule requirements of projects; produce implementation instructions, diagrams, operational guides, test methodologies, and system documentation for projects. Maintains and sustains all radio infrastructures including communication shelters, antennas and antenna systems, networks and system connectivity, and dispatch consoles, developing fleet map and code plugs for radio programming. This position is in Marietta, GABasic Qualifications
- Strong RF engineering background / experience in LMR and GTA two-way radio systems.
- Able to use specialized electronic test equipment such as communications service monitor and spectrum analyzers.
- Experience with installing, configuring, and maintaining the IP-based touchscreen radio control consoles and head-in software to remotely control the radios.
Desired skills
- Knowledgeable of IEEE802.16 microwave systems, radio system diagnostics and repair.
- Working knowledge of Motorola R-56 practices and industry best practices.
- Knowledgeable of the current “US Department of Homeland Security” procedures for non-federal interoperability channel allocations and the Georgia Mutual Aid Group.
- General Radiotelephone Operators License
- Basic understanding of aeronautical navigation and communication spectrum, spectrum allocation, and the evolving spectrum congestion. Knowledge of government regulations and processes including FCC licensing, NTIA RF authorizations, and DoD certification and authorization processes.
