Group Environment Policy Engagement LeadNational £60,000-£75,000 & London £75,000- £100,000This is a great opportunity for someone with a strong background in climate and nature policy and advocacy and in providing expertise, guidance and support on complex climate and nature policies and positions, providing insights into relevant frameworks, ongoing internal and external developments and industry best practices.A bit about the job:You will be expected to lead the strategic development of, implementation, management and monitoring of group-level climate and nature-related internal and external policies, house views and positions (and the supporting external membership and alliances forums) to support the delivery of the environmental aspects of Aviva’s Sustainability Agenda. You will need to develop and maintain a strong and close working relationship with the Public Affairs and communications team and have a strong external profile to ensure a coordinated internal and external approach to policy and advocacy.Skills and experience we’re looking for:Extensive environmental policy and house views development experience and experience working for or with government or in a peer group to develop environmental policy, positions and stances (e.g. the UN, DESNEZ, a major climate or sustainability NGO, etc.)Proven track record/deemed leader in environmental policy developmentExperience implementing internal policies and methodologies including exclusion policies (preferably in insurance / asset management sector) and experienced secretariat coordinating and preparing detailed briefing materials for senior executivesTechnical net zero and nature-related qualificationsSenior management level experience in an environmental regulatory environmentWhat you’ll get for this role:Our purpose – with you today, for a better tomorrow – is a promise we make to our colleagues too.
