CIMMYT is seeking a dynamic, self-motivated, and service-oriented professional for the position of Food & Beverage Logistics Supervisor to work in the Hospitality Department.
The positions will be based at CIMMYT’s headquarters in Texcoco, near Mexico City.
Objective:
Plan, organize, and supervise logistics (warehouse and cleaning) in the Food & Beverage area to ensure certification processes for Distintivo H, Punto Limpio, and Distintivo M, in accordance with established quality standards, providing first-class service to employees and customers.
Specific duties:
Supervise the cleanliness of all areas
Including the kitchen, dining room, Rincón Mexicano, warehouse, cafeteria, food truck, grocery store, vending machines, transport units, and BBQ area, ensuring compliance with Distintivo H and Punto Limpio guidelines, as indicated by the immediate supervisor.
- Ensure the cleaning and disinfection of Food & Beverage areas, adhering to certification processes.
- Train staff on the proper use of cleaning chemicals and personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Supervise the correct completion of cleaning logs and required documentation for certification renewal.
- Update cleaning and warehouse processes.
- Responsible for storing and dosing cleaning chemicals and PPE according to technical data sheets and safety guidelines.
- Oversee the dishwasher machine operation and ensure proper washing processes in collaboration with cooks and assistants, reporting any issues to the immediate supervisor.
- Supervise cleaning supply requisitions to minimize waste and loss.
- Oversee deep-cleaning processes and kitchen grease removal, ensuring grease traps are residue-free and waste is managed according to protocol.
- Supervise storage areas in the dining room and cafeteria, ensuring proper equipment organization.
- Assist with cashier duties at different points of sale (handling cash and card payments).
- Maintain optimal conditions in the dining hall and Rincón Mexicano area.
Coordinate auxiliary service staff to achieve continuous departmental objectives.
- Assist in assigning work schedules and logs for weekend shifts, sick leaves, vacation coverage, and holidays
- Organize staff activities to ensure smooth operations according to certification processes.
- Support team members during staff shortages due to vacations or sick leaves.
- Cover weekend and holiday shifts when needed.
Oversee and follow up on preventive and corrective maintenance, ensuring timely execution to keep facilities and equipment in optimal condition.
- Report any anomalies in the Food & Beverage area to the immediate supervisor.
- Submit maintenance requests and follow up, ensuring preventive and corrective maintenance records are kept in logs.
- Monitor temperature log records for storage and refrigeration units.
Supervise the kitchen warehouse area, ensuring proper processes and seeking improvements.
- Oversee the procurement of raw materials from suppliers via email for various points of sale and track miscellaneous supply orders for the cafeteria.
- Supervise and manage the monthly inventory of warehouse stock, refrigeration, freezing units, and storage areas.
- Ensure supplier requisitions match invoices for payment processing.
- Oversee raw material reception logs in compliance with Distintivo H standards.
- Ensure the proper arrangement of raw materials in storage, refrigeration, and freezing units according to Distintivo H and First-In, First-Out (FIFO) processes.
- Track kitchen equipment or raw material purchase orders, handle requisition forms, and collect supplies from the general warehouse.
- Conduct direct purchases from retailers such as Walmart, SAM’S Club, and the Central de Abastos based on departmental needs.
- Verify that the product catalog is updated with current pricing and product information sheets.
- Operate official company vehicles, maintaining cleanliness and reporting any damage or required maintenance..
Requirements
- The selected candidate must have a degree in in Gastronomy or a related field
- The selected candidate must have a minimum of 3 years of experience in warehouse management, purchase orders, and inventory control (verifiable).
- The selected candidate must have experience in industrial kitchen cleaning, handling cleaning chemicals, and PPE.
- Personnel management skills.
- English proficiency: B2 – C1.
- Knowledge of Distintivo H implementation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience using Point of Sale systems (Infocaja, SoftRest, etc.).
- Availability for rotating shifts and flexible schedules.
- Valid driver’s license required.
