Job Description:Job Title Distressed & Loan TraderLocation LondonCorporate Title Vice PresidentAs a trader on the Distressed & Leveraged loan trading desk, you will coordinate with all functions within the broader Distressed Products Group (analysts, sales and legal) to identify and execute trades in partnership with our institutional clients. The Distressed Products Group (DPG) is a specialised unit as part of Global Financing & Credit Trading. DPG is the leading market maker of stressed and non-performing securities and loans, engaged in trading, investment, structuring and the provision of new financing.The leveraged loan trading function operates as a market maker in the European secondary loan market providing liquidity between market participants, namely Collateralised Loan Obligation (CLO) managers, hedge funds and banks. This function has additional roles in providing distribution & market colour to Deutsche Bank’s Leveraged Debt Capital Markets primary issuance platform as well as supporting its CLO new issue business within Credit Asset-Backed Securities (ABS). Within distressed trading you will work closely with counterparts in Origination, Sales and Desk Analysts to identify trading opportunities and risk manage inventory positions accordingly through the distressed credit’s lifecycle.What we’ll offer youA healthy, engaged and well-supported workforce are better equipped to do their best work and, more importantly, enjoy their lives inside and outside the workplace. Your key responsibilities
- Work and collaborate with the team to generate new trade ideas, work includes credit, financial modelling, scenario analysis and communication with client investor base
- Coordinate legal, research, sales and sourcing functions throughout lifetime of trades
- Meet with institutional clients to source new ideas and pitch desk trade ideas to facilitate trading flow
- Liaise with internal parties such as risk management, supporting with preparation of internal approval documents
- Coordination of back and middle office functions that support the desk, namely loan closing, Know Your Customer (KYC) and finance
- Pushing operational improvements on desk proactively, including adoption of new systems. Coverage of senior traders across the desk in their absence
Your skills and experience
- Experience in leverage finance/ credit markets preferable
- Strong personal drive and proactive demeanour
- Be comfortable working with clients directly
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal and interpersonal skills
- Desire to work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong analytical aptitude and problem-solving abilities
