Ensuring that the estate is maintained in accordance with all mandatory and legislative requirements and also HTMs / HBNs to provide a safe, secure and clean environment for all patients, visitors and staff. An interest in all engineering disciplines is useful as Healthcare Estates is complex, but a particular skill set in electrical is requiredMain duties of the jobResponsible for the provision and management of effective operational estates services in accordance with current best practise, risk management techniques and in line with Health Technical Memorandums / Health Building Notices etc.Day to Day management and supervision of operational estates staff within the Estates Department and also external contractors.Maintaining the infrastructure and critical services to enable patients to be treated in a clean, safe and pleasant environment.Responsible for managing and complying with all statutory instruments related to all estates infrastructure and engineering services.To manage contracts, both internal and external, in addition to the directly employed workforce, to ensure the delivery of operational services.About usThe Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust (NCA) provides hospital and integrated health and social care services to over one million people living across Greater Manchester. - Evidence of continuing personal and professional development in EFM disciplines.
- Demonstrable record in estates management/estates supervisory roles with ability to think and work across a range of activities
- I.T Skills i.e. understanding use of outlook, Excel, Word and Handheld devices
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills at all levels, across all disciplines
- Customer focused Able to deal effectively with other professional staff
- Good management and Leadership qualities with ability to lead teams Able to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
- Able to innovate Awareness of Health and Safety in a maintenance environment
- In depth knowledge of Statutory compliance
Desirable
- Evidence of successful projects/programmes of work within agreed constraints e.g., budgets, timescales.
- Knowledge and experience of the operation of NHS Organisations.
- Sound knowledge of NHS technical documents, British standards, regulations, legislation and codes of practice
- Authorised Person or equivalent for engineering installations or systems
- Demonstrable experience of Maintenance planning
QualificationsEssential
- Engineering related HNC/HND in Electrical or mechanical Service Engineering or equivalent qualification and experience Evidence of continuing professional development .
- Professional/academic qualification at degree level or demonstrable equivalent experience in a Technical or Estates discipline.
Desirable
- Member of IHEEM / CIBSE / IET etc.
