Having established the start of an exciting new chapter in our long and storied history since a takeover in 2022 by chairman Bill Foley, AFC Bournemouth has seen significant investment committed towards sustaining Premier League status. The construction of a state-of-the-art training facility alongside the arrival of promising young talent from top clubs around Europe have provided the club with a fantastic platform from which to build its on-field expectations.We have placed an importance on maintaining the same focus on family and community that we have proudly displayed over the years, and delivering that engagement with our loyal supporters is a passionate and integrated backroom staff, working closely together to provide a positive and lasting experience for all at Vitality Stadium.
An ongoing recruitment drive is being undertaken at the club, with key off-field appointments having been made already across our business operations, ticketing, and partnerships functions, in an effort to continue improving the experience for our supporters.JOB PURPOSE
- To help our customer’s/supporters find the right products to enhance their enjoyment of supporting AFC Bournemouth through the provision of exceptional customer service.
MAIN DUTIES
Sales and Customer Service
- Effectively executive the GOALS sales process.
- To personally provide excellent standards of customer service by:
o Displaying good listening skills to identify customer needs and meeting those needs with the right product advice.
o Provide relevant and comprehensive key product information to customers.
o Demonstrating appropriate body language – friendly, open, helpful and approachable.
o Confidently engaging with customers and closing sales.
o Looking for link selling and till add on opportunities which will increase spend per head.
o Understanding the importance of product presentation and general store standards.
- Achievement of targets and KPI’s – Sales, Average Transaction Value (ATV) or Spend per head, Items Per Basket (IPB).
- Confident in solving customer problems quickly and effectively.
- Maintaining good working relationships with ‘internal stakeholders’ such as; Commercial team, Ticketing team, Accounts team, Operations Director, Chief Executive and Chairman.
- Providing our customers with the right products and experience so that every customer leaves inspired to enjoy supporting AFC Bournemouth.
Operations
- Complete daily tasks with accuracy and in a timely manner e.g. internet order processing, merchandising, stock filling, housekeeping etc.
- Replenish stock and maintain high standards of merchandising by ensuring that products are attractively displayed, correctly barcoded and priced with relevant Point of Sale (POS) applied.
- Comply with all Club policies, procedures and guidelines e.g. Health & Safety, Fire Safety, Security and Cash Handling.
- Conduct till point operations in line with guidelines.
- Conduct shirt printing where applicable (following training).
- Understanding and operation of the Touch Office EPOS system.
- Conduct Stock Checks as requested.
- Maintain vigilance in store and awareness of security issues including for example, fraudulent bank notes, credit cards, theft and suspicious behaviour; escalate security concerns to management as and when required.
Teamwork
- To work as part of the Superstore team to achieve personal and store objectives through:
o Demonstrating commitment to the team, supporting and helping other colleagues with tasks.
o Displaying a genuine and positive attitude to help team and Superstore achieve its objectives.
o Getting behind Retail initiatives.
o Carrying out additional duties as when required.
o Commitment to undertaking identified training requirements and putting into place learnings.
o Ability and willingness to acquire job related skills and knowledge through self-development and by learning from others.
o Demonstrating flexibility in order to meet store needs and special events e.g. matchdays, peak trade, sale, product launches, floor moves.
o Actively supporting and communicating with colleagues, customers and managers.
o Participating fully in team meetings and performance reviews.
General

KEY COMPETENCIES
- Retail/ and or sales experience
- Merchandising experience or knowledge
- IT literate and competent in using Microsoft software such as Outlook, Excel & Word
- Good verbal and written communication
- Punctual and effective time keeping
