Job Description:Additional Information: This hotel is owned and operated by an independent franchisee, InnVest Hotels. The franchisee is a separate company and a separate employer from Marriott International, Inc. The franchisee solely controls all aspects of the hotel’s employment policies and practices, including hiring, firing, discipline, staffing, compensation, benefits, and all other terms and conditions of employment. If you accept a position at this hotel, you will be employed by a franchisee and not by Marriott International, Inc.Reporting to the Front Office Manager, the assistant FOM acts as duty manager and assists the front office manager in managing overall operations, maintaining quality standards and ensuring guest satisfaction during the scheduled shifts and/or in the Management’s absence. The assistant FOM provides leadership and support to all members of the Front Office, implements and enforces the Brand and Company standards in all areas supervised.ACTIVITIES:

  • Assist front office manager in training, scheduling, evaluating, disciplining, motivating and coach-ing employees; serve as a role model and leads by example.
  • Anticipate guests’ needs with pre-arrival planning to improve guest satisfaction
  • Process all payment types such as room charges, cash, checks, debit, or credit and assist staff with expediting problem payments (e.g., problems processing credit card).
  • Resolve guest calls, requests, and create an operating environment that assures consistent guest satisfaction. Ensures proper handling of guest complaints
  • Count bank at the beginning and end of shift.
  • Review shift logs/daily memo books and document pertinent information in logbooks.
  • Process guest check-ins, assigning rooms and activating room keys, process guest check-out
  • Balance and drop receipts according to accounting specifications and verify staff closing shifts.
  • Ensure the proper image is being maintained by all Team Members with respect to grooming and uniform standards.
  • Creates an operating environment that assures consistent guest satisfaction.
  • Establish and maintain close working relationships with all departments of the hotel to ensure maximum cooperation, productivity, morale and guest service.
  • Display a high degree of professionalism and integrity.
  • As required of all hotel associates, assists any customer or potential customer in a prompt, cour-teous, friendly, and helpful manner always.

Safety and security procedures:

  • Respond properly and take a supervisory role in any hotel emergency or safety situation, as well as ensure the proper control and instructions of said emergency.
  • Ensures good safety practices of employees and guests, assisting in the maintenance of proper

emergency and security procedures.Other duties as assigned by managementCOMPETENCIES:

Requirements:

  • Available 5 days a week, including weekends and holidays
  • Available days and evening shifts. In rare occasions, night shifts
  • Bilingual: Speaks and write both French and English
  • Have a valid canadian work permit or permanent residency or Canadian citizenship.
